How is the ranking determined?

The FoodTech 500 ranking is based on a scoring system that evaluates companies on 3 main criteria:

  • The business size score is generated via an algorithm that predicts business growth based on financial performance indicators which include the number of employees, funding stage, amount of funds raised to date…
  • Similarly, the digital footprint score predicts a company's online growth through an algorithm that takes into account website traffic, social media performance, and follower growth.
  • The sustainability score, on the other hand, uses a custom survey and scoring framework that focuses on specific Sustainable Development Goals chosen from the United Nations.

Klarys ranks among the top 20 French companies

Out of the 2,100 startup and scaleup applications spanning across 67 countries and 5 continents, 500 finalists were chosen from 50 countries to make it onto the FoodTech 500 list. Klarys is one of the top 20 French companies to make the list, alongside notable companies such as Ynsect, a leader in natural insect protein production (ranked #2), Naïo Technologies, a pioneer in agricultural robotics solutions (ranked #12), and Algama Foods, which harnesses the potential of algae to create food that’s good for both people and the planet (ranked #19).

The FoodTech 500 ranking is a valuable resource for investors, entrepreneurs, and industry stakeholders looking to stay on top of the latest trends and innovations in the FoodTech space, as it highlights the most promising and innovative companies in the field.
